DISPLAY APPARATUS - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18520849 titled 'DISPLAY APPARATUS

Simplified Explanation

The patent application describes a display apparatus with a substrate containing sub-pixel areas, an inorganic insulating layer defining a groove between adjacent sub-pixel areas, an organic material layer filled in the groove, and a wiring line passing through the sub-pixel areas on the organic material layer.

  • Sub-pixel areas on a substrate
  • Inorganic insulating layer with grooves between sub-pixel areas
  • Organic material layer filling the grooves
  • Wiring line passing through sub-pixel areas on the organic material layer

Potential Applications

The technology described in this patent application could be applied in the development of high-resolution displays for electronic devices, such as smartphones, tablets, and televisions.

Problems Solved

This technology solves the problem of improving the resolution and image quality of displays by providing a more efficient way to pass wiring lines through sub-pixel areas without interfering with the display quality.

Benefits

The benefits of this technology include enhanced display resolution, improved image quality, and potentially reduced manufacturing costs due to the efficient design of the wiring layout.

Potential Commercial Applications

  • "Innovative Display Technology for High-Resolution Electronic Devices"

Possible Prior Art

There may be prior art related to display technologies using organic materials and wiring layouts, but specific examples are not provided in the patent application.

Unanswered Questions

How does this technology compare to existing display technologies in terms of power consumption?

The patent application does not address the power consumption of the display apparatus compared to other technologies. Further research or testing would be needed to determine the energy efficiency of this innovation.

What impact could this technology have on the overall cost of electronic devices?

While the patent application mentions potential cost savings in manufacturing, it does not provide specific data on the overall impact on the cost of electronic devices. A cost analysis or market study would be necessary to evaluate the financial implications of implementing this technology.

Original Abstract Submitted

A display apparatus includes: a substrate including a plurality of sub-pixel areas; an inorganic insulating layer defining a groove between two adjacent sub-pixel areas from among the plurality of sub-pixel areas in a plan view; an organic material layer filled in the groove; and a wiring line disposed on the organic material layer and passing through the two adjacent sub-pixel areas, where the organic material layer includes a first portion overlapping the groove in the plan view and a second portion extending from the first portion in an extension direction of the wiring line.
