DISPLAY DEVICE AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREOF - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18519132 titled 'DISPLAY DEVICE AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREOF

The abstract describes a display device with a base layer containing a display area and a non-display area, including multiple emission areas and non-emission areas. It also features a pixel defining film, conductive partition wall, common emission pattern, and auxiliary emission pattern.

  • The display device has a base layer with distinct display and non-display areas.
  • It includes multiple emission areas and non-emission areas within the display area.
  • A pixel defining film exposes the upper surfaces of the lower electrodes in the display area.
  • A conductive partition wall surrounds the third emission area in a plan view.
  • Common emission patterns overlap areas of the first and second emission areas and a non-emission area.
  • An auxiliary emission pattern overlaps the third emission area.

Potential Applications: - This technology can be used in various display devices such as televisions, monitors, and digital signage. - It can also be applied in augmented reality and virtual reality headsets for enhanced visual experiences.

Problems Solved: - Provides a more efficient and precise display of images and information. - Enhances the overall performance and quality of display devices.

Benefits: - Improved display quality and accuracy. - Increased efficiency in displaying images and content. - Enhanced user experience with sharper visuals.

Commercial Applications: Title: Advanced Display Technology for Enhanced Visual Experiences This technology can be utilized in the consumer electronics industry for manufacturing high-quality display devices with improved performance. It can also benefit companies involved in the development of augmented reality and virtual reality products.

Questions about Display Device Technology: 1. How does the pixel defining film contribute to the display quality of the device? The pixel defining film exposes the upper surfaces of the lower electrodes, allowing for more precise emission of light from the display areas.

2. What advantages does the common emission pattern offer in terms of display performance? The common emission pattern overlaps specific areas, ensuring a consistent and uniform emission of light, resulting in enhanced visual quality.

Original Abstract Submitted

A display device including a base layer including a display area and a non-display area, the display area including a first emission area, a second emission area, a third emission area, and multiple non-emission areas. The display device also including, a pixel defining film exposing upper surfaces of each of the first to third lower electrodes, a conductive partition wall disposed on the pixel defining film and surrounding the third emission area in a plan view, a common emission pattern disposed on a first lower electrode and a second lower electrode and overlapping areas of the first emission area, the second emission area, and one of the non-emission areas disposed between the first emission area and the second emission area, and an auxiliary emission pattern disposed on the third lower electrode and overlapping the third emission area.
