DEVELOPING DEVICE AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18517655 titled 'DEVELOPING DEVICE AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
Simplified Explanation
The developing device described in the patent application includes a development container, a developer carrier, and a toner trapping mechanism. The development container contains a toner-containing developer to be fed to an image carrier. The toner trapping mechanism includes a duct, an air inlet port, a trapping filter, and a fan to control the flow of air within the device.
- Development container with first and second conveyance chambers
- Toner trapping mechanism with duct, air inlet port, trapping filter, and fan
- Air vent in the development container for air circulation
Potential Applications
The technology described in this patent application could be applied in various printing and copying machines to improve the development process of images on paper.
Problems Solved
This technology helps in preventing toner particles from escaping the development container and ensures efficient development of images on the image carrier.
Benefits
The benefits of this technology include improved image quality, reduced toner wastage, and increased overall efficiency of the printing or copying process.
Potential Commercial Applications
The technology could be utilized in commercial printers, photocopiers, and multifunction devices to enhance the quality and reliability of image development.
Possible Prior Art
One possible prior art could be the use of toner trapping mechanisms in printing devices to prevent toner leakage and ensure clean image development.
Unanswered Questions
How does the toner trapping mechanism affect the overall performance of the developing device?
The toner trapping mechanism helps in maintaining a clean working environment by preventing toner particles from escaping the development container. This, in turn, ensures that the images produced are of high quality and reduces the need for frequent maintenance of the device.
What are the potential cost implications of implementing this technology in printing machines?
The cost implications of implementing this technology in printing machines may vary depending on the complexity of the device and the specific requirements of the application. However, the long-term benefits of improved image quality and reduced toner wastage could outweigh the initial investment in the technology.
Original Abstract Submitted
The developing device includes a development container, a developer carrier, and a toner trapping mechanism. The development container includes a first conveyance chamber and a second conveyance chamber placed in parallel juxtaposition and communicated with each other at their longitudinal both end portions, and the development container contains a toner-containing developer to be fed to an image carrier. The toner trapping mechanism includes a duct, an air inlet port, a trapping filter, and a fan. The duct is connected to the second conveyance chamber, and allows air present in the second conveyance chamber to flow therethrough. The development container has an air vent opened in the first conveyance chamber and communicated with outside of the development container.
