COIL COMPONENT - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18516080 titled 'COIL COMPONENT

The abstract describes a coil component embedded in a body, with a support member and a coil unit containing coil patterns on different surfaces. The coil unit has protrusions on the innermost and outermost turns.

  • The coil component includes a support member and a coil unit with coil patterns on different surfaces.
  • The coil unit has protrusions on the innermost and outermost turns.
  • The support member and coil unit are embedded in a body.

Potential Applications:

  • Electrical engineering applications
  • Manufacturing of electronic devices
  • Wireless charging technologies

Problems Solved:

  • Enhanced coil component design
  • Improved efficiency in electrical systems
  • Increased durability and reliability of electronic devices

Benefits:

  • Higher performance in electrical applications
  • Better heat dissipation
  • Longer lifespan of electronic devices

Commercial Applications:

  • Production of smartphones, tablets, and laptops
  • Development of wireless charging pads
  • Integration into automotive electronics

Questions about Coil Component Technology: 1. How does the protrusion on the innermost and outermost turns impact the performance of the coil component?

  - The protrusions help improve the efficiency and reliability of the coil component by enhancing the magnetic field distribution.

2. What are the potential challenges in manufacturing coil components with embedded support members?

  - Some challenges may include ensuring proper alignment of the coil unit and support member during the embedding process.

Original Abstract Submitted

A coil component includes a support member, a coil unit including at least one of first and second coil patterns disposed on one surface and the other surface of the support member and respectively including a plurality of turns, and a body in which the support member and the coil unit are embedded, wherein at least one of an innermost turn and an outermost turn of the plurality of turns has a protrusion that protrudes in a direction away from the innermost turn and the outermost turn.
