INK DISCHARGING APPARATUS - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18515484 titled 'INK DISCHARGING APPARATUS

Simplified Explanation

The ink discharging apparatus described in the patent application includes a tank for storing ink, a head for discharging the ink, a supply pipe connecting the tank and the head, a pump in the supply pipe to transfer ink, a pipe branching upward from the supply pipe, and a pressure sensor connected to the upper end of the pipe. The pipe has an upper tube part with a larger cross-sectional area than the lower tube part.

  • Tank for storing ink
  • Head for discharging ink
  • Supply pipe connecting tank and head
  • Pump to transfer ink
  • Pipe with upper and lower tube parts
  • Pressure sensor connected to pipe

Potential Applications

The technology described in the patent application could be used in various inkjet printing systems, industrial printing machines, and other devices that require precise and controlled ink discharging mechanisms.

Problems Solved

This technology helps in maintaining a consistent ink flow and pressure, preventing clogs or uneven ink distribution in printing processes. It also allows for better control and monitoring of ink levels and pressure within the system.

Benefits

The benefits of this technology include improved print quality, reduced maintenance costs, increased efficiency in ink usage, and overall enhanced performance of ink discharging systems.

Potential Commercial Applications

The technology could be applied in commercial printing presses, packaging machinery, labeling systems, and other industrial equipment that rely on accurate and reliable ink discharging mechanisms.

Possible Prior Art

One possible prior art for this technology could be inkjet printers with pressure sensors for monitoring ink levels and flow rates. Another could be industrial ink dispensing systems with pumps and supply pipes for controlled ink distribution.

Unanswered Questions

How does the pressure sensor communicate with the rest of the system?

The patent application does not specify the communication protocol or interface used by the pressure sensor to relay information about ink pressure to the apparatus.

What materials are used in the construction of the supply pipe and pump?

The patent application does not detail the specific materials or components used in the construction of the supply pipe and pump, which could impact the durability and performance of the apparatus.

Original Abstract Submitted

There is provided an ink discharging apparatus including: a tank configured to store an ink; a head configured to discharge the ink supplied from the tank; a supply pipe connecting the tank and the head; a pump arranged in the supply pipe, the pump being configured to transfer the ink from the tank to the head; a pipe branching upward from the supply pipe; and a pressure sensor connected to an upper end part of the pipe. The pipe has an upper tube part and a lower tube part continuous with the upper tube part. A first cross-sectional area of an internal space of the upper tube part is greater than a second cross-sectional area of an internal space of the lower tube part.
