GATE DRIVER AND DISPLAY DEVICE INCLUDING SAME - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18514677 titled 'GATE DRIVER AND DISPLAY DEVICE INCLUDING SAME

The abstract of the patent application describes a gate driver with multiple stages that output scan signals. Each stage connects to a pair of adjacent gate lines, sending odd-numbered scan signals to odd-numbered lines and even-numbered scan signals to even-numbered lines at a specific driving frequency, with a 180-degree phase difference between them.

  • The gate driver includes multiple stages for outputting scan signals.
  • Each stage connects to a pair of adjacent gate lines.
  • Odd-numbered scan signals are sent to odd-numbered lines, while even-numbered scan signals are sent to even-numbered lines.
  • The signals are output at a specific driving frequency.
  • There is a 180-degree phase difference between the odd-numbered and even-numbered scan signals.

Potential Applications: - This technology can be used in various types of gate drivers for electronic devices. - It can improve the efficiency and performance of gate driver circuits in applications such as power electronics and semiconductor devices.

Problems Solved: - The gate driver addresses the need for precise control and synchronization of signals in gate driver circuits. - It ensures accurate timing and coordination between different stages of the driver.

Benefits: - Enhanced performance and reliability of gate driver circuits. - Improved efficiency and accuracy in controlling gate signals. - Simplified design and implementation of gate driver systems.

Commercial Applications: Title: Advanced Gate Driver Technology for Enhanced Performance in Power Electronics This technology can be utilized in industries such as electric vehicles, renewable energy systems, industrial automation, and consumer electronics for more efficient and reliable operation of electronic devices.

Questions about Gate Driver Technology: 1. How does the phase difference between odd-numbered and even-numbered scan signals impact the performance of the gate driver? The phase difference ensures proper timing and coordination between signals, leading to improved efficiency and accuracy in controlling gate lines.

2. What are the key advantages of using a gate driver with multiple stages for outputting scan signals? Having multiple stages allows for better control and synchronization of signals, resulting in enhanced performance and reliability of gate driver circuits.

Original Abstract Submitted

A gate driver can include a plurality of stages configured to output scan signals. An output of each stage among the plurality of stages is configured to connect to a pair of gate lines that are adjacent to each other, output an odd-numbered scan signal to an odd-numbered line among the pair of gate lines according to a first driving frequency, and output an even-numbered scan signal to an even-numbered line among the pair of gate lines according to the first driving frequency. Also, a phase difference between the odd-numbered scan signal and the even-numbered scan signal is 180 degrees.
