SPECTRUM ACCESS ARBITER ENTITY FOR SHARING SPECTRUM RESOURCES - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18510939 titled 'SPECTRUM ACCESS ARBITER ENTITY FOR SHARING SPECTRUM RESOURCES

The abstract of this patent application discusses a method for wireless communication involving the transmission of grants and cryptographic checksums between network nodes and open radio access network distributed units.

  • Network node grants permission to use a shared spectrum resource to an O-DU, indicating a first cryptographic checksum for a specific timeslot.
  • O-DU sends a transmission with a second cryptographic checksum back to the network node.
  • Network node authenticates the transmission based on the grant, and transmits it via the shared spectrum resource after verifying the checksums match.

Original Abstract Submitted

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a network node may transmit, to an open radio access network distributed unit (O-DU) associated with the network node, a grant that permits use of a shared spectrum resource, the grant indicating a first cryptographic checksum for a given timeslot in which the shared spectrum resource is granted. The network node may receive, from the O-DU, a transmission that includes a second cryptographic checksum. The network node may transmit the transmission via the shared spectrum resource based at least in part on an authentication of the transmission, the authentication involving the grant being accepted by the open radio access network radio unit (O-RU) based at least in part on a verification that the second cryptographic checksum corresponds to the first cryptographic checksum. Numerous other aspects are described.
