VEHICLE DISPLAY CONTROL DEVICE, VEHICLE DISPLAY CONTROL METHOD, AND NON-TRANSITORY RECORDING MEDIUM - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18510016 titled 'VEHICLE DISPLAY CONTROL DEVICE, VEHICLE DISPLAY CONTROL METHOD, AND NON-TRANSITORY RECORDING MEDIUM

The present disclosure describes a vehicle display control device that forms an augmented reality (AR) image matching the dividing line of a lane using sensor data, with the processor determining the length of the AR image based on sensor reliability.

  • The device forms an AR image that aligns with the dividing line of the lane where the vehicle is traveling.
  • It utilizes sensor information to create an accurate representation of the lane.
  • The processor controls the image forming section to adjust the length of the AR image based on the reliability of the sensor data.
  • This technology enhances the driver's awareness of lane boundaries and improves overall safety on the road.

Potential Applications: - Advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) - Autonomous vehicles - Navigation systems

Problems Solved: - Enhancing lane-keeping assistance systems - Improving driver visibility and awareness - Enhancing road safety

Benefits: - Increased safety on the road - Enhanced driver assistance features - Improved navigation accuracy

Commercial Applications: Title: "Enhanced Lane-Keeping Assistance System for Vehicles" This technology can be integrated into vehicles to enhance their safety features, making them more attractive to consumers looking for advanced driver assistance systems.

Prior Art: Prior art related to this technology may include patents or research on AR displays in vehicles, lane-keeping assistance systems, and sensor-based vehicle technologies.

Frequently Updated Research: Researchers may be exploring ways to improve the accuracy and reliability of sensor data for AR displays in vehicles, as well as optimizing the integration of AR technology into driver assistance systems.

Questions about Vehicle Display Control Device: 1. How does this technology improve driver awareness on the road? 2. What are the potential applications of this device in autonomous vehicles?

Original Abstract Submitted

The present disclosure provides a vehicle display control device including a processor and an image forming section configured to form an AR image having a shape that conforms to a dividing line of a lane in which a vehicle travels, using information from a sensor that recognizes the dividing line, wherein the processor is configured to control the image forming section so as to form the AR image, and determine a length, in an extension direction of the lane, of the AR image that the image forming section is caused to form, based on a reliability of a detection result of the sensor.
