SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PREDICTING NEGATIVE PRESSURE OF BRAKE BOOSTER OF VEHICLE - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18509028 titled 'SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PREDICTING NEGATIVE PRESSURE OF BRAKE BOOSTER OF VEHICLE

Simplified Explanation

The patent application describes a system for predicting negative pressure in the brake booster of a vehicle based on driving information and intake manifold pressure. The system includes a driving information detector and a controller with a booster negative pressure predictor.

  • The driving information detector detects driving information related to the vehicle's operation.
  • The controller determines the negative pressure of the intake manifold based on atmospheric pressure and the pressure of the intake manifold.
  • The booster negative pressure predictor predicts the negative pressure of the brake booster by integrating over time a change rate according to the charging and discharging rates of the negative pressure.

Potential Applications

This technology could be applied in the automotive industry for improving brake system performance and safety.

Problems Solved

This system helps in predicting negative pressure in the brake booster, which can prevent brake failure and improve overall vehicle safety.

Original Abstract Submitted

A system for predicting a negative pressure of a brake booster of a vehicle includes: a driving information detector detecting driving information related to driving of the vehicle; and a controller determining a negative pressure of an intake manifold based on a pressure of the intake manifold and an atmospheric pressure which is the driving information and including a booster negative pressure predictor predicting the negative pressure of the brake booster by integrating over time a change rate according to a charging rate and a discharging rate of the negative pressure determined using a negative pressure of the brake booster determined in a previous cycle according to a logic for predicting the negative pressure of the brake booster and the negative pressure of the intake manifold of a current cycle and an imitated brake pedal force signal of the current cycle imitating an acceleration of the vehicle.
