RECORDING APPARATUS - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18505305 titled 'RECORDING APPARATUS
Simplified Explanation
The patent application describes a recording apparatus that adjusts the amount of recording material used based on an index value regarding dirtiness, with the goal of decreasing the amount of recording material used.
- The recording apparatus includes a recording part for recording images onto a recording medium with recording material.
- The controller adjusts the amount of recording material used during recording based on an adjustment value.
- The controller changes the adjustment value in a direction of decreasing the amount of recording material based on an index value regarding dirtiness.
Potential Applications
This technology could be applied in:
- Printing industry for more efficient use of ink or toner
- Photography for optimizing the use of printing materials
Problems Solved
This technology addresses:
- Wastage of recording material
- Inefficient use of resources in recording processes
Benefits

- Cost savings through reduced material usage
- Environmental benefits through decreased waste
Potential Commercial Applications
Optimizing recording material usage in various industries such as:
- Printing
- Photography
Possible Prior Art
One possible prior art could be systems that optimize ink usage in printing processes.
Unanswered Questions
How does the controller determine the adjustment value based on the dirtiness index?
The patent application does not provide specific details on the algorithm or method used to calculate the adjustment value based on the dirtiness index.
Are there any limitations to the changing processing of the adjustment value based on the dirtiness index?
The patent application does not mention any potential limitations or drawbacks of the changing processing based on the dirtiness index.
Original Abstract Submitted
There is provided a recording apparatus including: a recording part configured to perform a recording of an image onto a recording medium with a recording material; and a controller configured to adjust, based on an adjustment value, an amount of the recording material which is to be used at a time of the recording. The controller is configured to execute, based on an index value regarding dirtiness, a changing processing of changing at least one of the adjustment value and a value regarding the adjustment value, in a direction of decreasing the amount of the recording material.
