PACKET PROCESSING METHOD, APPARATUS, AND SYSTEM, DEVICE, AND COMPUTER-READABLE STORAGE MEDIUM - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18489081 titled 'PACKET PROCESSING METHOD, APPARATUS, AND SYSTEM, DEVICE, AND COMPUTER-READABLE STORAGE MEDIUM
Simplified Explanation
The technology described in this patent application is related to packet processing in communication technologies. It introduces a method for setting a target identifier in the packet header of a second packet, indicating that the packet should be decapsulated. This allows for the extraction of a first original packet from the second packet when the target identifier is found in the packet header. The first original packet can then be directly encapsulated to create a first target packet for transmission, eliminating the need for multiple layers of encapsulation. This improves packet transmission efficiency.
- The technology enables the setting of a target identifier in a packet header to indicate decapsulation of the packet.
- A first original packet can be obtained from a second packet by extracting it when the target identifier is present in the packet header.
- The first original packet can be directly encapsulated to create a first target packet for transmission.
- This eliminates the need for multiple layers of encapsulation, improving packet transmission efficiency.
Potential Applications:
- This technology can be applied in various communication systems, such as network routers, switches, and gateways.
- It can be used in data centers to improve packet processing efficiency and reduce latency.
- The technology can be implemented in software-defined networking (SDN) environments to enhance network performance.
Problems Solved:
- The technology solves the problem of inefficient packet transmission caused by multiple layers of encapsulation.
- It eliminates the need for complex encapsulation and decapsulation processes, simplifying packet processing.
- The method provides a more streamlined approach to packet handling, reducing processing overhead.
Benefits:
- Improved packet transmission efficiency leads to faster data transfer and reduced network congestion.
- Simplified packet processing reduces the computational load on network devices, improving overall system performance.
- The technology enables more efficient utilization of network resources, enhancing the scalability of communication systems.
Original Abstract Submitted
The technology of this application relates to a packet processing method, apparatus, and system, a device, and a computer-readable storage medium, and pertains to the field of communication technologies. The technology provides a manner of setting, in a packet header of a second packet, a target identifier that indicates to decapsulate the packet. In this way, after the second packet is obtained from a first packet, a first original packet is obtained from the second packet when it is determined that the packet header of the second packet includes the target identifier. Then, a layer of encapsulation is directly performed on the first original packet, to obtain a first target packet used for sending. In this case, there is no need to perform a plurality of layers of encapsulation. Therefore, packet transmission efficiency is improved.
