Assisted Speech Recognition - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18470520 titled 'Assisted Speech Recognition
Simplified Explanation
The abstract describes a system for assisting speech recognition processing by allowing another person to provide additional input if the initial speech input is not recognized.
- The system assists speech recognition processing by allowing another person to provide additional input if the initial speech input is not recognized.
- The additional input from the other person helps determine the meaning of the speech input, leading to an assisted speech recognition result.
Potential Applications
This technology could be applied in various fields such as healthcare, customer service, and language translation services.
Problems Solved
This technology helps individuals with compromised speech to communicate more effectively by providing assistance in speech recognition processing.
Benefits
The system improves communication for individuals with speech impairments and enhances the accuracy of speech recognition results.
Potential Commercial Applications
Potential commercial applications include speech recognition software, communication devices for individuals with speech impairments, and customer service chatbots.
Possible Prior Art
Prior art may include existing speech recognition systems and devices designed to assist individuals with speech impairments.
Unanswered Questions
How does the system ensure the privacy and security of the speech input and additional input provided by the other person?
The system could use encryption and secure communication protocols to protect the privacy and security of the speech data.
What languages and accents is the system capable of recognizing and assisting with?
The system may need to be trained on a wide range of languages and accents to be effective in assisting speech recognition processing for diverse user groups.
Original Abstract Submitted
Systems, apparatuses, and methods are described for assisting speech recognition processing. If speech recognition processing of speech input by an individual does not yield a recognized result, for example, if speech is from an individual with compromised speech, an indication may be sent to a device associated with another person that can assist. The other person may provide, via that device, additional input that indicates the meaning of the speech input. Based on this additional input, an assisted speech recognition result may be determined.
