IMAGE READING DEVICE - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18463655 titled 'IMAGE READING DEVICE

The abstract describes an image reading device with a transporting unit, an image reader, and a rotary body with an elastic protrusion towards the image reader.

  • The device includes a transporting unit that moves a recording medium along a path.
  • An image reader on one side of the path reads images on the recording medium.
  • A rotary body on the opposite side of the image reader includes an elastic protrusion towards the image reader.

Potential Applications: - Document scanning - Image digitization - Quality control in printing processes

Problems Solved: - Efficient image reading - Consistent image quality - Reduced wear on recording media

Benefits: - Improved image capture accuracy - Enhanced scanning speed - Extended lifespan of recording media

Commercial Applications: Title: Advanced Image Reading Device for Enhanced Document Scanning This technology can be used in industries such as printing, publishing, and document management for efficient image reading and digitization processes.

Prior Art: Researchers can explore patents related to image reading devices, rotary bodies, and elastic protrusions in scanning technologies.

Frequently Updated Research: Stay updated on advancements in image reading technology, elastic body materials, and rotary body design for improved scanning performance.

Questions about Image Reading Devices: 1. How does the elastic protrusion on the rotary body enhance image reading accuracy? 2. What are the potential cost-saving benefits of using this advanced image reading device in large-scale document scanning operations?

Original Abstract Submitted

An image reading device includes a transporting unit that transports a recording medium along a transport path; an image reader that is disposed on one side of the transport path and that reads an image formed on the recording medium that is transported through the transport path; and a rotary body that is rotatably provided, that is disposed on a side opposite to a side where the image reader is set with the transport path being interposed between the rotary body and the image reader, and that includes an elastic body that protrudes toward the image reader.
