IMAGE PICKUP APPARATUS CAPABLE OF PROCESSING SUBJECT DETECTION IN MULTIPLE-EXPOSURE IMAGE WITH HIGH PRECISION AND HIGH SPEED, CONTROL METHOD FOR IMAGE PICKUP APPARATUS, AND STORAGE MEDIUM - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18461240 titled 'IMAGE PICKUP APPARATUS CAPABLE OF PROCESSING SUBJECT DETECTION IN MULTIPLE-EXPOSURE IMAGE WITH HIGH PRECISION AND HIGH SPEED, CONTROL METHOD FOR IMAGE PICKUP APPARATUS, AND STORAGE MEDIUM

Simplified Explanation

The image pickup apparatus described in the patent application is capable of processing subject detection in a multiple-exposure image with high accuracy and speed. It includes a processor, memory, and various units for acquiring, synthesizing, and detecting subjects in images.

  • Acquisition unit acquires images of multiple frames
  • Synthesis unit combines images to create a multiple-exposure image
  • First detection unit identifies subjects in the frames
  • Determination unit determines the subject type of the main subject in the multiple-exposure image
  • Second detection unit detects subjects of the determined subject type in the multiple-exposure image

Potential Applications

  • Photography
  • Surveillance systems
  • Image processing software

Problems Solved

  • Improving subject detection accuracy in multiple-exposure images
  • Enhancing processing speed for subject detection
  • Streamlining image acquisition and synthesis processes

Benefits

  • High accuracy in subject detection
  • Fast processing speed
  • Efficient handling of multiple-exposure images

Original Abstract Submitted

An image pickup apparatus capable of processing subject detection in a multiple-exposure image with high accuracy and high speed is provided. The image pickup apparatus includes at least one processor, and a memory coupled to the processor storing instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to function as an acquisition unit to acquire images of a plurality of frames, a synthesis unit to synthesize the images of the plurality of frames to generate a multiple-exposure image, a first detection unit to detect at least one or more subjects with respect to at least one of the images of the plurality of frames, a determination unit to determine a subject type of a main subject of the multiple-exposure image based on a detection result obtained by the first detection unit, and a second detection unit to detect a subject of the determined subject type in the multiple-exposure image.
