COMMUNICATION APPARATUS AND CONTROL METHOD THEREFOR - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18458053 titled 'COMMUNICATION APPARATUS AND CONTROL METHOD THEREFOR
Simplified Explanation
- A communication apparatus receives a predetermined packet from a time synchronization master terminal. - If the reception unit cannot receive the packet within a set time, the header information in a packet from a new time synchronization master terminal is changed to match the initial master terminal. - The apparatus then transmits the packet with the updated header information to another communication apparatus.
Potential Applications
- Time synchronization in communication networks - Data transmission in industrial automation systems
Problems Solved
- Ensures accurate time synchronization even if the initial master terminal fails - Prevents communication disruptions due to time discrepancies
Benefits
- Improved reliability in data transmission - Seamless transition between time synchronization master terminals - Enhanced network efficiency and performance
Original Abstract Submitted
A communication apparatus includes a reception unit configured to receive a predetermined packet from a time synchronization master terminal, a change unit configured to, in a case where the reception unit is not able to receive the predetermined packet within a predetermined time, change header information included in a predetermined packet transmitted by and received from a terminal newly becoming a time synchronization master to header information included in the predetermined packet received from the initial time synchronization master terminal, and a transmission unit configured to transmit the predetermined packet including the header information changed by the change unit to a second communication apparatus.
