IMAGE STABILIZATION CONTROL APPARATUS AND METHOD, AND STORAGE MEDIUM - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18454332 titled 'IMAGE STABILIZATION CONTROL APPARATUS AND METHOD, AND STORAGE MEDIUM

Simplified Explanation

An image stabilization control apparatus is described in the patent application. This apparatus controls a first correction unit that drives a correction lens in an imaging optical system and a second correction unit that drives an image sensor. It selects one of multiple control methods based on the focal length of the imaging optical system and determines the correction amount for each correction unit based on the shake amount detected and the selected control method.

  • The apparatus performs image stabilization by controlling a correction lens and image sensor.
  • It selects a control method based on the focal length of the optical system.
  • The correction amount for each unit is determined based on shake amount and selected control method.
  • The first control method involves over-correction with the first unit and inverse-correction with the second unit.

Original Abstract Submitted

An image stabilization control apparatus performs image stabilization by controlling a first correction unit that drives a correction lens included in an imaging optical system and a second correction unit that drives an image sensor, and by selecting one of a plurality of control methods including first and second control methods based on a focal length of the imaging optical system, and obtaining a correction amount of one of the first and second correction unit based on a shake amount from detection unit and on the control method selected by the selection unit. The first control method is to perform an over-correction using the first correction unit and an inverse-correction using the second correction unit.
