AIR CONDITIONER - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18442453 titled 'AIR CONDITIONER

The abstract describes an air conditioner with a unique panel design for easy maintenance of filters.

  • The air conditioner has a housing with an outlet and a panel that can be attached or detached from the lower side.
  • The panel has an inlet for air intake, a first filter for initial filtration, and a second filter for further purification.
  • A lifter mechanism allows the panel to be lowered to a maintenance position for easy access to the filters, and then lifted back to the initial position for operation.

Potential Applications

The innovative panel design could be applied to various air conditioning systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings.

Problems Solved

This technology addresses the common issue of difficult filter maintenance in air conditioners, making it more convenient for users to keep their units running efficiently.

Benefits

The benefits of this design include easier and quicker filter maintenance, leading to improved air quality and overall performance of the air conditioner.

Commercial Applications

The panel design could be attractive to air conditioner manufacturers looking to differentiate their products in the market by offering a user-friendly maintenance feature.

Prior Art

There may be existing patents or technologies related to filter maintenance in air conditioners, but this specific panel design with a lifter mechanism appears to be a novel approach.

Frequently Updated Research

Research on air quality, energy efficiency, and user preferences in air conditioning systems could impact the development and adoption of this technology.

Questions about Air Conditioner Panel Design

Question 1

How does the lifter mechanism in the panel design work? The lifter mechanism allows the panel to be lowered for easy access to filters and lifted back up for operation. It simplifies maintenance tasks for users.

Question 2

What are the potential cost implications of implementing this panel design in air conditioners? The cost implications would depend on factors such as materials used, manufacturing processes, and added features. Manufacturers would need to assess the impact on production costs and pricing strategies.

Original Abstract Submitted

An air conditioner includes a housing comprising an outlet, a panel attachable to or detachable from a lower side of the housing, the panel comprising an inlet to introduce air therethrough, a first filter installable to the panel to filter the introduced air, a second filter installable to the panel at an upper side of the first filter and configured to further filter the introduced air, and a lifter configured to detach the panel from the lower side of the housing by lowering the panel from an initial position to a maintenance position in a vertical direction, and to attach the panel to the lower side of the housing by lifting the panel from the maintenance position to the initial position in the vertical direction. By lowering the panel to the maintenance position, one or more of the first filter and the second filter are accessible for the maintenance.
