REPORTING OF COMBINED MEASUREMENT ASSOCIATED WITH MULTIPLE SAMPLES FOR A POSITION ESTIMATION SESSION - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18441870 titled 'REPORTING OF COMBINED MEASUREMENT ASSOCIATED WITH MULTIPLE SAMPLES FOR A POSITION ESTIMATION SESSION

    • Simplified Explanation:**

The patent application describes techniques for communication where a User Equipment (UE) reports a combination pattern and combined calibration error for a combined measurement associated with samples across PRS occasions of a PRS measurement procedure. These reported values can be used by a position estimation entity to derive a position estimate of the UE.

    • Key Features and Innovation:**
  • UE reports a combination pattern for a combined measurement across PRS occasions.
  • UE reports a combined calibration error for the combined measurement.
  • Position estimation entity uses reported values to derive a position estimate of the UE.
    • Potential Applications:**

The technology can be used in:

  • Location-based services
  • Navigation systems
  • Emergency services
    • Problems Solved:**
  • Improved accuracy in position estimation
  • Efficient communication of measurement data
  • Enhanced performance of PRS measurement procedures
    • Benefits:**
  • Enhanced user experience in location-based services
  • Better navigation accuracy
  • Faster response times in emergency situations
    • Commercial Applications:**
  • "Enhanced Position Estimation Communication Techniques for Location-Based Services"
    • Prior Art:**

Research on communication techniques for position estimation in wireless networks.

    • Frequently Updated Research:**

Ongoing studies on improving communication protocols for position estimation in mobile devices.

    • Questions about Communication Techniques for Position Estimation:**

1. How do these communication techniques improve the accuracy of position estimation? 2. What are the potential challenges in implementing these techniques in real-world scenarios?

Original Abstract Submitted

Disclosed are techniques for communication. In an aspect, a UE reports a combination pattern for a combined measurement associated with samples across PRS occasions of a PRS measurement procedure. In another aspect, a UE reports a combined calibration error of a combined measurement associated with samples across PRS occasions of a PRS measurement procedure. The reported combination pattern and/or combined calibration error may be used by a position estimation entity for derivation of a position estimate of the UE.
