ENHANCEMENT IN CONFIGURED GRANT TRANSMISSION - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18441142 titled 'ENHANCEMENT IN CONFIGURED GRANT TRANSMISSION

The abstract describes a system, method, and computer program product for enhancing configured grant transmission in a communication network.

  • Receives a configured grant (CG) configuration message setting up multiple CG physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) transmission occasions within a CG period.
  • Receives an information element indicating a time division duplexing (TDD) uplink-downlink (UL-DL) slot configuration.
  • Determines if a specific CG PUSCH transmission occasion overlaps with a downlink (DL) slot based on the TDD UL-DL slot configuration.
  • Skips using the specific CG PUSCH transmission occasion if it overlaps with a DL slot.

Potential Applications: - This technology can be applied in wireless communication systems to optimize uplink transmission efficiency. - It can be used in 5G networks to improve resource allocation and reduce interference.

Problems Solved: - Efficiently managing uplink transmission resources in TDD systems. - Avoiding interference between uplink and downlink transmissions.

Benefits: - Enhanced uplink transmission performance. - Improved overall network efficiency. - Reduced interference for better signal quality.

Commercial Applications: Title: Enhanced Uplink Transmission Optimization in Wireless Communication Systems This technology can be utilized by telecommunications companies to enhance the performance of their networks, leading to better service quality for customers and increased overall efficiency in data transmission.

Questions about Enhanced Uplink Transmission Optimization: 1. How does this technology improve the efficiency of uplink transmission in wireless communication systems? - This technology optimizes the allocation of resources for uplink transmission occasions, reducing interference and improving overall network performance. 2. What are the potential applications of this innovation in the context of 5G networks? - In 5G networks, this technology can help in better resource management and interference mitigation, leading to enhanced network performance and user experience.

Original Abstract Submitted

Disclosed herein are system, method, and computer program product embodiments for enhancement in configured grant transmission. An embodiment operates by receiving a configured grant (CG) configuration message configuring a plurality of CG physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) transmission occasions (TOs) within a CG period. Next, the embodiment receives an information element indicating a time division duplexing (TDD) uplink-downlink (UL-DL) slot configuration. The embodiment then determines whether a particular CG PUSCH TO of the plurality of CG PUSCH TOs overlaps with a DL slot indicated by the TDD UL-DL slot configuration. Finally, in response to a determination that the particular CG PUSCH TO overlaps with the DL slot, the embodiment skips utilizing the particular CG PUSCH TO.
