RANDOM ACCESS METHOD, COMMUNICATIONS APPARATUS, CHIP, AND STORAGE MEDIUM - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18434475 titled 'RANDOM ACCESS METHOD, COMMUNICATIONS APPARATUS, CHIP, AND STORAGE MEDIUM

Simplified Explanation

The abstract describes a method and apparatus for random access in a communication system. A terminal device receives a synchronization signal on a candidate occasion and sends random access information on a specific resource associated with that occasion. The candidate occasions are periodically and sequentially associated with resources, providing a mapping periodicity for efficient access.

  • Explanation of the patent/innovation:

- Terminal device receives synchronization signal on a candidate occasion - Sends random access information on specific resource associated with that occasion - Candidate occasions are periodically and sequentially associated with resources - Mapping periodicity for efficient access is provided

Are there any limitations to the number of devices that can access the network using this method simultaneously?

The article does not mention any limitations on the number of devices that can access the network simultaneously using this optimized random access method. It would be important to understand if there are any scalability issues.

Original Abstract Submitted

A random access method, a communications apparatus, a chip, and a storage medium are described. A terminal device receives a first synchronization signal/PBCH block (SSB) on a first candidate SSB occasion. The first candidate SSB occasion is associated with a first random access channel time-frequency-code resource, and the terminal device sends random access information on the first random access channel time-frequency-code resource. The first candidate SSB occasion is included in L candidate SSB occasions. The L candidate SSB occasions are periodically and sequentially associated with random access channel time-frequency-code resources. By using M adjacent candidate SSB occasions as a mapping periodicity, M is less than L.
