SHORT-RANGE WIRELESS COMMUNICATION METHOD AND ELECTRONIC DEVICE THEREFOR - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18434471 titled 'SHORT-RANGE WIRELESS COMMUNICATION METHOD AND ELECTRONIC DEVICE THEREFOR
Simplified Explanation
The abstract describes an electronic device that can switch between different communication protocols when a connection is lost. Here are some key points from the abstract:
- The device has a wireless communication circuit, memory, and a processor.
- The memory stores a program with instructions for wireless communication using two different protocols.
- The processor can detect when a communication link is disconnected and determine if it can be reconnected within a certain time frame.
- If reconnection is not possible, the device can switch to a different communication link using a different protocol.
Potential Applications
This technology could be used in various electronic devices that rely on wireless communication, such as smartphones, tablets, and IoT devices.
Problems Solved
This technology solves the problem of maintaining communication when a connection is lost, ensuring seamless connectivity for users.
Benefits
The main benefit of this technology is uninterrupted communication, improving user experience and reliability of wireless devices.
Potential Commercial Applications
This technology could be valuable in industries where reliable wireless communication is crucial, such as healthcare, manufacturing, and transportation.
Possible Prior Art
One possible prior art could be similar technologies used in mobile devices to switch between different networks when signal strength is low.
Unanswered Questions
How does the device prioritize between reconnection and switching to a different communication link?
The abstract does not specify the criteria or algorithm used by the device to make the decision between reconnection and switching protocols.
Are there any limitations to the range or compatibility of the different communication protocols supported by the device?
The abstract does not mention any restrictions or limitations regarding the range or compatibility of the communication protocols used by the device.
Original Abstract Submitted
An electronic device includes: a wireless communication circuit; a memory storing a program including an instruction for performing wireless communication based on a first communication protocol and a second communication protocol, respectively, through the wireless communication circuit; and a processor connected to the memory and the wireless communication circuit to: identify that communication connection of a first communication link is disconnected while performing communication through the first communication link based on the first communication protocol with an external electronic device; with information related to the disconnection of the communication connection, determine if possible to reconnect the first communication link within a specified period of time; and when determined that reconnection of the first communication link is impossible within the specified period of time, connect a second communication link based on the second communication protocol through the wireless communication circuit without waiting for the reconnection for the first communication link.
