SEAL-INTEGRITY DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18426198 titled 'SEAL-INTEGRITY DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM

The patent application describes an apparatus with sensors to measure internal and external pressure of a housing to determine seal quality.

  • The apparatus includes a housing, a first sensor for internal pressure measurement, and an optional second sensor for external pressure measurement.
  • A processor analyzes the measurements to determine the seal-quality metric of the housing.
  • The first sensor is an internal pressure sensor inside the housing, while the second sensor is an external pressure sensor on the outside wall.
  • The first measurement is the internal pressure of the housing, and the second measurement is the external pressure.

Potential Applications: - Quality control in manufacturing processes - Monitoring of sealed environments in various industries such as food packaging or pharmaceuticals

Problems Solved: - Ensuring the integrity of seals in housings - Detecting leaks or faults in sealed environments

Benefits: - Improved quality control - Early detection of seal issues - Enhanced product safety and reliability

Commercial Applications: Title: "Seal Quality Monitoring System for Industrial Applications" This technology can be used in industries such as manufacturing, food processing, pharmaceuticals, and more to ensure the quality and integrity of seals in various applications.

Questions about the technology: 1. How does this technology improve quality control in manufacturing processes? - This technology allows for real-time monitoring of seal quality, ensuring early detection of any issues that may arise. 2. What are the potential benefits of using sensors to measure internal and external pressure in sealed environments? - By measuring both internal and external pressure, this technology provides a comprehensive assessment of seal quality, leading to improved product safety and reliability.

Original Abstract Submitted

An apparatus of the subject technology includes a housing, a first sensor to obtain a first measurement, an optional second sensor to obtain a second measurement, and a processor to determine a seal-quality metric of the housing based on the first measurement and the second measurement. The first sensor can include an internal pressure sensor disposed inside the housing, and the first measurement can include measurement of an internal pressure of the housing. The second sensor can include an external pressure sensor disposed at an outside wall of the housing, and the second measurement can include measurement of an external pressure.
