PROTECTIVE FILM AND LAMINATE - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18424886 titled 'PROTECTIVE FILM AND LAMINATE

Simplified Explanation: The protective film described in the patent application has excellent adhesiveness to an electrode and exceptional moisture-heat resistance. It contains a polymer with an acid group, ensuring a high level of protection for the electrode.

  • The protective film contains a polymer with a repeating unit that has an acid group.
  • The acid value of the protective film is 120 mgKOH/g or less.
  • The film has a maximal absorption wavelength in the range of 300 to 400 nm.
  • When heated at 140°C for 30 minutes, the rate of change of K/S at the maximal absorption wavelength is 10% or less.

Key Features and Innovation:

  • Excellent adhesiveness to electrodes.
  • Exceptional moisture-heat resistance.
  • Contains a polymer with an acid group.
  • Low acid value for enhanced protection.
  • Specific absorption wavelength range for optimal performance.
  • Minimal change in absorption coefficient when heated.

Potential Applications: The protective film can be used in various electronic devices, solar panels, batteries, and other applications where protection against moisture and heat is crucial.

Problems Solved: The protective film addresses the need for a reliable and durable solution to protect electrodes from moisture and heat, ensuring the longevity and performance of electronic components.

Benefits:

  • Enhanced adhesiveness to electrodes.
  • Improved resistance to moisture and heat.
  • Long-lasting protection for electrodes.
  • Maintains performance under high temperatures.

Questions about Protective Film for Electrodes: 1. What are the specific characteristics of the polymer used in the protective film? 2. How does the protective film compare to other existing solutions in terms of adhesiveness and resistance to moisture and heat?

Original Abstract Submitted

The present invention provides a protective film having excellent adhesiveness to an electrode and excellent moisture-heat resistance, and a laminate. The protective film of the present invention is a protective film for an electrode, containing a polymer A which has a repeating unit A having an acid group, in which an acid value of the protective film is 120 mgKOH/g or less, the protective film has a maximal absorption wavelength in a wavelength range of 300 to 400 nm, and in a case where the protective film is heated at 140° C. for 30 minutes, a rate of change of K (an absorption coefficient)/S (a scattering coefficient) at the maximal absorption wavelength is 10% or less.
