DRUM-TYPE WASHING MACHINE - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18422273 titled 'DRUM-TYPE WASHING MACHINE
Simplified Explanation
The patent application describes a drum-type washing machine with an air-flow noise reduction mechanism.
- Casing with an inlet for loading and unloading laundry
- Tub for storing water, accessible through the inlet
- Drum for rotating laundry
- Pipe connection portions on the tub for connecting pipes
- Air-flow noise reduction mechanism in at least one pipe connection portion to control air-flow during drum rotation
Potential Applications
The technology can be applied in household washing machines, commercial laundry facilities, and industrial cleaning equipment.
Problems Solved
Reduces noise generated by air-flow during drum rotation, improving user experience and minimizing disturbance in residential settings.
Benefits
Enhanced user comfort, quieter operation, improved efficiency in laundry washing processes.
Potential Commercial Applications
The technology can be utilized by washing machine manufacturers, laundry service providers, and industrial cleaning equipment suppliers.
Possible Prior Art
Prior art may include washing machines with noise reduction features, air-flow control mechanisms in household appliances, and innovations in laundry machine design.
Unanswered Questions
How does the air-flow noise reduction mechanism specifically work to control noise during drum rotation?
The patent application provides a general description of the mechanism but does not detail the specific technology or components involved in reducing air-flow noise.
Are there any specific performance metrics or test results provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the noise reduction mechanism?
The application does not mention any specific data or testing results to quantify the noise reduction achieved by the air-flow noise reduction mechanism.
Original Abstract Submitted
A drum-type washing machine including a casing having an inlet through which laundry is loaded and unloaded, a tub arrangeable in the casing so that while the tub is arranged in the casing, an inside of the tub is accessible through the inlet, the tub being able to store water, a drum arrangeable in the tub to rotate about an axis extending in forward and rearward directions while the laundry is loaded into the drum, a plurality of pipe connection portions, arrangeable on a side surface of the tub, to be connected to pipes, and an air-flow noise reduction mechanism, arrangeable in at least one pipe connection portion among the plurality of pipe connection portions, to control air-flow caused by rotation of the drum.
