WHITE INK FOR INKJET PRINTING - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18416184 titled 'WHITE INK FOR INKJET PRINTING

Simplified Explanation: The patent application describes a white ink for inkjet printing that contains titanium oxide particles in an aqueous medium. The titanium oxide particles consist of both anatase-type and rutile-type titanium oxide particles with specific mass percentages and particle diameters.

  • The white ink for inkjet printing contains titanium oxide particles in an aqueous medium.
  • The titanium oxide particles include both anatase-type and rutile-type particles.
  • The anatase-type particles have a mass percentage between 17.50% and 37.50%.
  • The rutile-type particles have a mass percentage between 72.50% and 82.50%.
  • Both types of titanium oxide particles have a primary particle diameter between 140 nm and 340 nm.

Potential Applications: 1. Printing high-quality white images on various surfaces. 2. Creating vibrant and durable prints for marketing materials. 3. Producing detailed and precise designs on different substrates.

Problems Solved: 1. Achieving consistent and reliable white ink printing results. 2. Enhancing the opacity and brightness of printed materials. 3. Improving the adhesion and durability of printed images.

Benefits: 1. Enhanced print quality and color accuracy. 2. Increased durability and longevity of printed materials. 3. Improved performance on a wide range of printing substrates.

Commercial Applications: The technology can be used in industries such as advertising, packaging, and textile printing to create high-quality and long-lasting printed materials.

Questions about White Ink for Inkjet Printing: 1. How does the combination of anatase-type and rutile-type titanium oxide particles improve the quality of printed materials? 2. What are the specific advantages of using white ink with titanium oxide particles in inkjet printing?

Original Abstract Submitted

A white ink for inkjet printing contains titanium oxide particles and an aqueous medium. The titanium oxide particles include anatase-type titanium oxide particles and rutile-type titanium oxide particles. The anatase-type titanium oxide particles have a percentage content of at least 17.50% by mass and no greater than 37.50% by mass in the titanium oxide particles. The rutile-type titanium oxide particles have a percentage content of at least 72.50% by mass and no greater than 82.50% by mass in the titanium oxide particles. Both the anatase-type titanium oxide particles and the rutile-type titanium oxide particles have a number average primary particle diameter of at least 140 nm and no greater than 340 nm.
