PARKING RESERVATION MANAGEMENT DEVICE - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18414464 titled 'PARKING RESERVATION MANAGEMENT DEVICE

The parking reservation management device described in the patent application manages a parking lot with both chargeable parking spaces equipped with a charging device for vehicle batteries and chargeable and dischargeable parking spaces with a charging and discharging device for batteries.

  • The device confirms the vehicle's battery is chargeable and dischargeable by the charging and discharging device before assigning a parking space.
  • It ensures the charging and discharging device can operate while the vehicle is parked.
  • The system prioritizes vehicles that meet the confirmation criteria for the chargeable and dischargeable parking spaces.

Potential Applications: - Parking lots with electric vehicle charging capabilities - Smart parking systems with battery management features

Problems Solved: - Efficient allocation of parking spaces based on battery charging needs - Ensuring charging and discharging devices can operate effectively

Benefits: - Optimal use of parking spaces for electric vehicles - Enhanced battery management for parked vehicles

Commercial Applications: Title: "Smart Parking System with Battery Management" This technology can be utilized in commercial parking lots, airports, and public charging stations to streamline the parking process for electric vehicles and improve battery management.

Questions about the technology: 1. How does the parking reservation management device confirm the vehicle's battery status? The device performs a confirmation process to verify the vehicle's battery is chargeable and dischargeable by the charging and discharging device.

2. What are the key features of the chargeable and dischargeable parking spaces? The parking spaces are equipped with charging and discharging devices for vehicle batteries, allowing for efficient battery management while parked.

Original Abstract Submitted

The parking reservation management device manages a parking lot having a chargeable parking space to which a charging device for charging a battery installed in a vehicle is attached and a chargeable and dischargeable parking space to which a charging and discharging device for charging and discharging the battery is attached. The parking reservation management device performs, when making a parking reservation, a confirmation process to confirm that the vehicle to be parked is chargeable and dischargeable of the battery by the charging and discharging device, and to confirm that the charging and discharging device may charge and discharge the battery while the vehicle is parked, and the parking reservation management device assigns a chargeable and dischargeable parking space preferentially to the vehicle that has been confirmed by the aforementioned confirmation process.
