IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18411303 titled 'IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS

The patent application describes a sheet bonding apparatus that includes various components for bonding sheets together using a powdery adhesive.

  • The apparatus consists of an applying portion, fixing portion, folding portion, and bonding portion with a heating member and a non-heating member for nipping the sheet between them to bond it.
  • Two regions, a first region, and a second region, are involved when the folding portion folds a sheet.
  • During the bonding process, the first region is positioned on the heating member side, and the second region is positioned on the non-heating member side.
  • The applying portion applies the powdery adhesive in such a way that the application amount is smaller in the first region than in the second region.

Potential Applications: - This technology can be used in the manufacturing of various products that require bonding of sheets with a powdery adhesive. - It can be applied in industries such as packaging, printing, and textiles for creating secure bonds between sheets.

Problems Solved: - The apparatus provides a precise application of the powdery adhesive, ensuring a strong bond between sheets. - It offers a controlled distribution of the adhesive, reducing waste and improving efficiency in the bonding process.

Benefits: - Enhanced bonding strength between sheets. - Reduced adhesive waste and improved cost-effectiveness. - Increased efficiency in the sheet bonding process.

Commercial Applications: Title: Innovative Sheet Bonding Apparatus for Efficient Production Processes This technology can be utilized in industries such as packaging, printing, and textiles for streamlining production processes and improving the quality of bonded products.

Questions about Sheet Bonding Apparatus: 1. How does the apparatus ensure a precise application of the powdery adhesive? The apparatus utilizes the applying portion to control the distribution of the adhesive, applying a smaller amount in the first region and a larger amount in the second region for optimal bonding.

2. What are the potential industrial applications of this sheet bonding technology? This technology can be applied in various industries such as packaging, printing, and textiles for efficiently bonding sheets together with a powdery adhesive.

Original Abstract Submitted

A sheet bonding apparatus includes an applying portion, a fixing portion, a folding portion, and a bonding portion including a heating member and a non-heating member which oppose to each other and which are for bonding the sheet by nipping the sheet therebetween. Two regions opposing to each other when the folding portion folds a sheet are a first region and a second region. In a case that when the bonding portion bonds the folded sheet, the first region is positioned on a heating member side and the second region is positioned on a non-heating member side, the applying portion applies the powdery adhesive so that an application amount of the powdery adhesive on the sheet is smaller in the first region than in the second region.
