MOWING MACHINE - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18408233 titled 'MOWING MACHINE

The patent application describes a mowing machine that utilizes a processor to predict the load on the cutting blade motor based on information related to the state of grass growth, allowing for optimized travel paths and control of the machine.

  • The mowing machine includes a memory, a processor, and a main body with a drive motor and cutting blade motor.
  • The processor acquires information on grass growth, predicts the load on the cutting blade motor, sets a travel path based on the load prediction, and controls the drive motor accordingly.
  • This technology enables efficient and precise grass cutting by adjusting the machine's movement based on the anticipated load on the cutting blade motor.

Potential Applications: - Landscaping and lawn care services - Agriculture and farming operations - Golf course maintenance

Problems Solved: - Inefficient grass cutting due to lack of load prediction - Uneven grass cutting leading to subpar lawn appearance - Wasted energy and resources from unnecessary movements

Benefits: - Improved efficiency in grass cutting operations - Enhanced precision and uniformity in grass cutting - Reduced energy consumption and operational costs

Commercial Applications: Title: "Smart Mowing Machine Technology for Precision Lawn Care" This technology can be marketed to landscaping companies, agricultural businesses, and golf courses seeking to enhance the quality and efficiency of their grass cutting operations.

Questions about Smart Mowing Machine Technology: 1. How does the processor predict the load on the cutting blade motor? - The processor uses information related to the state of grass growth to anticipate the load that will be applied to the cutting blade motor during grass cutting. 2. What are the potential cost savings associated with using this technology? - By optimizing travel paths and load predictions, this technology can reduce energy consumption and operational costs for businesses in the landscaping and agriculture sectors.

Original Abstract Submitted

A mowing machine, including: a memory; a processor coupled to the memory; and a mowing machine main body including a drive motor configured to drive a movement mechanism and a cutting blade motor configured to drive a cutting blade configured to cut grass, wherein the processor is configured to: acquire information related to a state of grass growth in a mowing target region, predict a load that will be applied to the cutting blade motor at a time of cutting the grass based on the acquired information related to the state of grass growth, set a travel path based on the predicted load, and control driving of the drive motor such that the mowing machine main body travels along the set travel path.
