WRISTBAND AND WRIST-WORN DEVICE - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18405136 titled 'WRISTBAND AND WRIST-WORN DEVICE

The abstract describes a wristband and a wrist-worn device that utilize a memory metal wire to maintain a ring shape, allowing the wristband to naturally maintain a wearing state.

  • The wristband consists of a band body part with two separable end portions and a memory metal wire with a strip shape that extends along the length direction of the band body part.
  • The memory metal wire has a memory state of being ring-shaped in a natural state, ensuring the band body part naturally maintains a ring shape and the wristband stays in a wearing state.
  • A first installation cavity inside the band body part accommodates and installs the memory metal wire securely.

Potential Applications: - This technology could be used in smart wearable devices to provide a comfortable and secure fit on the wrist. - It could also be applied in medical devices for monitoring vital signs or tracking health data.

Problems Solved: - The wristband addresses the issue of discomfort or slippage commonly experienced with traditional wristbands. - It ensures a consistent and secure fit on the wrist, preventing the device from falling off during use.

Benefits: - Enhanced comfort and convenience for users wearing wrist-worn devices. - Improved reliability and stability of the device on the wrist.

Commercial Applications: Smart wearable technology companies could integrate this innovative wristband design into their products to enhance user experience and differentiate their offerings in the market.

Questions about the technology: 1. How does the memory metal wire maintain the ring shape of the wristband?

The memory metal wire has a natural memory state of being ring-shaped, allowing it to retain the desired shape of the wristband.

2. What are the potential implications of using memory metal wire in wearable devices beyond wristbands?

Memory metal wire could potentially be used in various wearable devices to improve fit, comfort, and overall user experience.

Original Abstract Submitted

Disclosed are a wristband and a wrist-worn device. The wristband includes a band body part and a memory metal wire. The band body part has two end portions separable from each other. The memory metal wire has a strip shape extending along a length direction of the band body part and provided to the band body part. The memory metal wire has a memory state of being ring-shaped in a natural state, so that the band body part naturally maintains a ring shape, and the wristband naturally maintains a wearing state. A first installation cavity is provided inside the band body part, and the memory metal wire is accommodated and installed in the first installation cavity.
