POWER AMPLIFIER CIRCUIT - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18403741 titled 'POWER AMPLIFIER CIRCUIT

The patent application describes a power amplifier circuit consisting of three amplifiers and a harmonic suppression circuit. The first amplifier amplifies a signal in a specific frequency band, the second amplifier amplifies a signal in a different frequency band, and the third amplifier amplifies a receive signal in the second frequency band.

  • The first amplifier operates on power from a first supply line.
  • The second amplifier operates on power from a second supply line connected to the first supply line.
  • The third amplifier shares an antenna with the second amplifier to amplify the receive signal.
  • The harmonic suppression circuit generates a suppression signal based on a harmonic of the first transmit signal to prevent the transfer of unwanted harmonics to the power supply lines.

Potential Applications: - Wireless communication systems - Radio frequency transmitters - Signal amplification in electronic devices

Problems Solved: - Minimizing harmonic interference in power amplifiers - Enhancing signal quality in different frequency bands

Benefits: - Improved signal clarity - Reduced interference - Efficient power usage

Commercial Applications: Title: "Advanced Power Amplifier Circuit for Enhanced Signal Quality" This technology can be utilized in telecommunications equipment, satellite communication systems, and radar systems to improve signal transmission and reception.

Prior Art: There may be existing patents related to power amplifier circuits with harmonic suppression techniques, but further research is needed to determine specific prior art.

Frequently Updated Research: Ongoing research in the field of power amplifier design and harmonic suppression techniques may lead to advancements in signal processing and communication technology.

Questions about Power Amplifier Circuit with Harmonic Suppression: 1. How does the harmonic suppression circuit differentiate between the desired signal and unwanted harmonics? 2. What are the potential challenges in implementing this power amplifier circuit in real-world applications?

Original Abstract Submitted

A power amplifier circuit includes a first amplifier, a second amplifier, a third amplifier, and a harmonic suppression circuit. The first amplifier operates on power supplied through a first supply line, and amplifies a first transmit signal in a first frequency band. The second amplifier operates on power supplied through a second supply line connected to the first supply line, and amplifies a second transmit signal in a second frequency band different from the first frequency band. The third amplifier shares an antenna with the second amplifier, and amplifies a receive signal in the second frequency band received from the antenna. The harmonic suppression circuit generates, based on a harmonic of the first transmit signal, a suppression signal to suppress the harmonic to be transferred to the first supply line, and outputs the suppression signal to the first supply line or the second supply line.
