DISPLAY DEVICE - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18403327 titled 'DISPLAY DEVICE

The display device described in the patent application includes a light emitting element layer with a first light emitting element on a first pixel electrode of the first substrate, a first dummy element layer made of the same material as the first light emitting element but spaced apart from it, a second light emitting element on the first dummy element layer and a second pixel electrode, and metal patterns on the pixel electrodes electrically connected to the light emitting elements.

  • The display device features a unique configuration with a first light emitting element, a first dummy element, and a second light emitting element on separate pixel electrodes.
  • Metal patterns on the pixel electrodes provide electrical connections to the corresponding light emitting elements.
  • The second metal pattern is positioned in a through hole penetrating the first dummy element layer, enhancing the electrical connections in the device.
  • A common electrode is present on both the first and second light emitting elements, ensuring proper functioning of the display device.
  • The use of a first dummy element layer with the same material as the light emitting elements contributes to the efficiency and performance of the display device.
