DISPLAY PANEL - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18396714 titled 'DISPLAY PANEL

The abstract describes a display panel with a light-emitting device, a pixel defining layer, a separator, and a sensing electrode, all arranged in a specific configuration.

  • The display panel includes a light-emitting device with electrodes and a light-emitting layer, a pixel defining layer with openings, a separator with separating openings, and a sensing electrode with pattern and bridge portions.
  • The pixel defining layer does not cover the center portion of the first electrode, allowing light emission.
  • The separator overlaps the light-emitting opening and has a separating opening aligned with it.
  • The sensing electrode's pattern portion overlaps the separator, while the bridge portion is connected to the pattern portion and the pixel defining layer.
  • The bridge portion has a first portion overlapping the separator and a second portion not overlapping it.

Original Abstract Submitted

Provided is a display panel including a light-emitting device including a first electrode, a second electrode, and a light-emitting layer, a pixel defining layer having a light-emitting opening defined therein the pixel defining layer not covering at least a center portion of the first electrode, a separator disposed on the pixel defining layer and having a separating opening defined therein and overlapping the light-emitting opening, and a sensing electrode including a pattern portion overlapping the separator and a bridge portion electrically connected to the pattern portion. At least a portion of the pattern portion is disposed on the separator and electrically disconnected from the second electrode along an edge of the separator and the bridge portion is disposed on the pixel defining layer, wherein the bridge portion includes a first portion which overlaps the separator and a second portion which does not overlap the separator.
