THIN FILM TRANSISTOR ARRAY SUBSTRATE INCLUDING OXIDE SEMICONDUCTOR PATTERN AND DISPLAY DEVICE INCLUDING SAME - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18396314 titled 'THIN FILM TRANSISTOR ARRAY SUBSTRATE INCLUDING OXIDE SEMICONDUCTOR PATTERN AND DISPLAY DEVICE INCLUDING SAME

Simplified Explanation: The patent application describes a thin film transistor array substrate for a display device that includes pixels with sub-pixels having different ratios of width to length, reducing color deviation between sub-pixels.

  • Each pixel in the substrate contains multiple sub-pixels with driving thin film transistors.
  • The driving thin film transistors in each pixel have sub-pixels with varying width-to-length ratios.
  • This design aims to stabilize the color of the display device by minimizing color deviation between sub-pixels.

Key Features and Innovation:

  • Thin film transistor array substrate for display devices.
  • Pixels with sub-pixels having different width-to-length ratios.
  • Driving thin film transistors with oxide semiconductor patterns.
  • Reduction of color deviation between sub-pixels for stabilized display colors.

Potential Applications: The technology can be applied in various display devices such as televisions, monitors, smartphones, and tablets to improve color accuracy and stability.

Problems Solved: The technology addresses the issue of color deviation between sub-pixels in display devices, leading to inconsistent and inaccurate color representation.

Benefits:

  • Enhanced color accuracy and stability in display devices.
  • Improved visual experience for users.
  • Increased overall quality of display output.

Commercial Applications: The technology can be utilized in the manufacturing of high-quality display devices for consumer electronics, entertainment systems, and professional monitors, enhancing the viewing experience for users.

Prior Art: Prior art related to this technology may include research on thin film transistor arrays, display color accuracy, and semiconductor patterns in display devices.

Frequently Updated Research: Researchers may be conducting studies on optimizing the width-to-length ratios of sub-pixels in thin film transistor arrays for improved color performance in display devices.

Questions about Thin Film Transistor Array Substrate: 1. How does the technology of sub-pixels with different width-to-length ratios improve color accuracy in display devices? 2. What are the potential challenges in implementing this technology on a large scale in commercial display manufacturing?

Original Abstract Submitted

A thin film transistor array substrate of the present disclosure includes a substrate including an active area and a non-active area disposed in the vicinity of the active area, and a plurality of pixels disposed in the active area, in which each pixel includes a plurality of sub pixels, each sub pixel includes a driving thin film transistor including an oxide semiconductor pattern, and the driving thin film transistor in the pixel includes sub pixels having different ratios of a width to a length of a channel of the driving thin film transistor. By doing this, provided is a display device in which a color deviation between each sub pixels, as it is used, is reduced to stabilize a color of the display device.
