HIGH-FREQUENCY POWER SUPPLY APPARATUS - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18396280 titled 'HIGH-FREQUENCY POWER SUPPLY APPARATUS

The high-frequency power supply apparatus described in the patent application consists of a first power supply, a second power supply, a matching circuit, and a low-pass filter.

  • The first power supply generates a high-frequency voltage with a first fundamental frequency for the load.
  • The second power supply produces a negative polarity voltage with a second fundamental frequency lower than the first frequency for the load.
  • The matching circuit is positioned between the first power supply and the load to match impedance.
  • The low-pass filter is connected between the second power supply and the load.
  • The first power supply utilizes frequency modulation control by applying frequency modulation on the high-frequency voltage with a trapezoidal modulation signal matching the second fundamental frequency.

Potential Applications: - This technology can be used in high-frequency power supply systems for various industrial applications. - It can be applied in telecommunications, medical equipment, and scientific instruments requiring precise power supply control.

Problems Solved: - Provides efficient power supply with frequency modulation control. - Matches impedance between power supply and load for optimal performance.

Commercial Applications: Title: "Advanced High-Frequency Power Supply Technology for Industrial Applications" This technology can be utilized in manufacturing processes, telecommunications infrastructure, and medical equipment production, enhancing efficiency and performance in various industries.

Questions about the technology: 1. How does the frequency modulation control improve the performance of the power supply system? - Frequency modulation control allows for precise adjustment of the high-frequency voltage, optimizing power delivery to the load.

2. What are the key advantages of using a low-pass filter in this high-frequency power supply apparatus? - The low-pass filter helps to eliminate unwanted high-frequency noise and interference, ensuring a cleaner power supply output.

Original Abstract Submitted

A high-frequency power supply apparatus includes a first power supply, a second power supply, a matching circuit, and a low-pass filter. The first power supply outputs a high-frequency voltage with a first fundamental frequency toward a load. The second power supply outputs, toward the load, a negative polarity voltage with a second fundamental frequency lower than the first fundamental frequency. The matching circuit is connected between the first power supply and the load. The matching circuit matches impedance on a side of the first power supply and impedance on a side of the load. The low-pass filter is connected between the second power supply and the load. The first power supply performs frequency modulation control by: performing frequency-modulation on the high-frequency voltage with a trapezoidal modulation signal whose frequency is equal to the second fundamental frequency, and outputting a modulated wave obtained by the frequency-modulation on the high-frequency voltage.
