HIGH PRESSURE TANK - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18395583 titled 'HIGH PRESSURE TANK

The abstract describes a high-pressure tank with a resin liner, round tubular cylinder, cap members, and a reinforcing layer with fibers wound around the cylinder.

  • Simplified Explanation:

- High-pressure tank design with a resin liner and reinforcing fibers for strength and durability.

  • Key Features and Innovation:

- Resin liner with round tubular cylinder design. - Cap members for sealing the ends of the cylinder. - Reinforcing layer with fibers wound around the cylinder for added strength. - Reinforcing members with fibers wound around the cap members multiple times.

  • Potential Applications:

- Used in industrial settings for storing high-pressure gases or liquids. - Suitable for applications requiring a strong and durable tank design.

  • Problems Solved:

- Provides a solution for safely storing high-pressure substances. - Ensures the tank can withstand the pressure without leaking or rupturing.

  • Benefits:

- Increased safety in storing high-pressure substances. - Enhanced durability and strength of the tank design.

  • Commercial Applications:

- Title: "High-Pressure Tank with Reinforced Resin Liner: Commercial Applications and Market Implications" - Potential commercial uses in industries such as oil and gas, chemical processing, and manufacturing. - Market implications include improved safety standards and increased efficiency in handling high-pressure substances.

  • Questions about High-Pressure Tank Technology:

1. What are the specific advantages of using a resin liner in a high-pressure tank? - The resin liner provides a strong and durable barrier for containing high-pressure substances, reducing the risk of leaks or ruptures.

2. How does the reinforcing layer with fibers enhance the strength of the tank design? - The reinforcing layer with fibers hoop-wound around the cylinder adds structural integrity and helps the tank withstand high pressures effectively.

Original Abstract Submitted

A high pressure tank includes: a liner made of resin and including a round tubular shaped cylinder portion; a first cap member connected to a first connecting end portion of the cylinder portion; a second cap member connected to a second connecting end portion of the cylinder portion; and a reinforcing layer including first reinforcing fibers hoop-wound along a circumferential direction of the cylinder portion. Reinforcing members are laid over the first cap member and the second cap member. The reinforcing members include second reinforcing fibers hoop-wound around the first cap member and the second cap member a plurality of times.
