SYNTHETIC TESTING - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18394991 titled 'SYNTHETIC TESTING

The disclosure outlines techniques for automated scheduling and orchestration of synthetic tests for network sites. A network management system is configured to determine network conditions, instruct network devices to perform tests, identify network issues, and take action based on the identified issues.

  • Network management system automates scheduling and orchestration of synthetic tests for network sites.
  • Determines network conditions based on data received from network devices.
  • Instructs network devices to perform tests according to the network conditions.
  • Identifies network issues from data obtained during tests.
  • Takes action based on the identified network issues.

Potential Applications: - Network monitoring and troubleshooting - Performance optimization of network devices - Quality assurance testing for network infrastructure

Problems Solved: - Streamlining the process of conducting synthetic tests on network sites - Improving efficiency in identifying and addressing network issues

Benefits: - Enhanced network performance and reliability - Time and cost savings in network management - Proactive approach to network maintenance and troubleshooting

Commercial Applications: Title: Automated Network Testing and Orchestration System This technology can be utilized by network service providers, IT companies, and telecommunications companies to improve the efficiency and reliability of their network infrastructure. What are the potential benefits of using automated scheduling and orchestration for network testing? - The benefits include enhanced network performance and reliability, time and cost savings, and a proactive approach to network maintenance and troubleshooting.

Original Abstract Submitted

The disclosure describes one or more techniques for performing automated scheduling and/or orchestration of synthetic tests for network sites. For example, a network management system comprises a memory and one or more processors in communication with the memory and configured to: determine, based on data received from a plurality of network devices of a network, a network condition to perform a test, wherein the network condition comprises one or more of a time window to perform the test or one or more network devices of the plurality of network devices to perform the test; instruct, based on the network condition, the one or more network devices to perform the test; identify, based on data obtained from the one or more network devices that performed the test, an issue of the network; and perform an action based on the identified issue.
