PIXEL SHIFTING DEVICE AND PROJECTOR - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18393912 titled 'PIXEL SHIFTING DEVICE AND PROJECTOR

The pixel shifting device described in the abstract consists of a first frame holding an optical member that oscillates around a first axis, a second frame oscillating around a second axis, a base coupled to the second frame, first and second actuators for oscillating the frames, and various coupling parts and shaft formation parts.

  • The device includes a first frame with an optical member and a second frame, both oscillating around different axes.
  • A base is coupled to the second frame via a coupling part.
  • The first and second frames are connected by shaft formation parts.
  • First and second actuators are used to oscillate the frames.
  • The second frame and base have extending parts along the second axis, where the second actuator is located.
  • The shaft formation parts have coupling parts and beams extending along the second axis.

Original Abstract Submitted

A pixel shifting device includes a first frame which holds an optical member, and which oscillates around a first oscillation axis, a second frame oscillating around a second oscillation axis, a base to be coupled to the second frame via a first coupling part, a pair of first oscillation shaft formation parts for coupling the first frame and the second frame, a first actuator for oscillating the first frame, and a second actuator for oscillating the second frame, wherein the second frame and the base have an extending part which extends along the second oscillation axis, and in which the second actuator is disposed, and the pair of first oscillation shaft formation parts have a pair of second coupling parts for coupling the first and second frames, and a pair of beams extending on the second frame respectively from the pair of second coupling parts along the second oscillation axis.
