NON-TRANSITORY COMPUTER-READABLE RECORDING MEDIUM STORING COMPUTER-READABLE INSTRUCTIONS FOR TERMINAL DEVICE AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING TERMINAL DEVICE - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18393005 titled 'NON-TRANSITORY COMPUTER-READABLE RECORDING MEDIUM STORING COMPUTER-READABLE INSTRUCTIONS FOR TERMINAL DEVICE AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING TERMINAL DEVICE

The abstract describes a terminal device that displays a selection screen for choosing target identification information to identify a target printing device for printing. The selection screen includes identification information for both registered and unregistered printing devices, each with a different display manner.

  • The terminal device displays a selection screen for choosing target identification information for printing devices.
  • The selection screen includes identification information for registered printing devices and unregistered printing devices.
  • Registered printing devices have a first display manner, while unregistered printing devices have a different second display manner.
  • The system ensures that users can easily identify and select the desired printing device for their printing needs.

Potential Applications: - This technology can be used in office settings to streamline the printing process by allowing users to easily select the desired printing device. - Print shops can utilize this system to efficiently manage multiple printing devices and assign print jobs accordingly.

Problems Solved: - Helps users quickly identify and select the appropriate printing device for their printing needs. - Simplifies the printing process by providing clear identification information for each printing device.

Benefits: - Improves efficiency in selecting printing devices. - Reduces errors in choosing the wrong printing device. - Enhances user experience by providing clear and organized information.

Commercial Applications: Title: Enhanced Printing Device Selection System for Improved Efficiency This technology can be commercially applied in office environments, print shops, and any setting with multiple printing devices to optimize the printing process and improve overall efficiency.

Questions about the technology: 1. How does the system differentiate between registered and unregistered printing devices? 2. What are the potential implications of this technology for large-scale printing operations?

Original Abstract Submitted

A terminal device displays a selection screen on a display unit of the terminal device for selecting target identification information, the target identification information being for identifying a target printing device which is to execute printing. The selection screen includes M identification information (M being equal to or greater than 1) for identifying M printing devices and N identification information (N being equal to or greater than 1) for identifying N printing devices. Each of the M printing devices is a printing device for which registration of a printing-related predetermined service has been completed, each of the N printing devices is a printing device for which registration of the printing-related predetermined service has not been completed, each of the M identification information has a first display manner, and each of the N identification information has a second display manner different from the first display manner.
