WASHING MACHINE AND METHOD OF CONTROLLING THE SAME - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18389065 titled 'WASHING MACHINE AND METHOD OF CONTROLLING THE SAME

Simplified Explanation: The patent application describes a washing machine with a sensor that detects the coupling or decoupling of a washing rod and a pulsator, allowing the control panel to display relevant washing modes based on their state.

  • The washing machine includes a tub, a rotating tub, a pulsator, a washing rod, a sensor, a control panel, and a controller.
  • The sensor detects whether the washing rod is coupled to the pulsator.
  • The controller uses this information to display appropriate washing modes on the control panel.
  • This innovation streamlines the user experience by automatically adjusting the displayed washing modes based on the status of the washing rod and pulsator.

Potential Applications: This technology can be applied in various types of washing machines, from residential to commercial settings, to enhance user convenience and efficiency in selecting washing modes.

Problems Solved: This technology addresses the challenge of manually selecting washing modes by automatically adjusting the display based on the coupling status of the washing rod and pulsator.

Benefits: - Simplifies the user interface by dynamically displaying relevant washing modes - Improves user experience by reducing the need for manual mode selection - Enhances efficiency in operating the washing machine

Commercial Applications: The technology can be utilized in the development of advanced washing machines for both residential and commercial use, offering a more intuitive and user-friendly interface that appeals to consumers seeking convenience in laundry appliances.

Prior Art: Prior art related to this technology may include patents or publications discussing sensor-based control systems in washing machines or similar appliances.

Frequently Updated Research: Stay informed about advancements in sensor technology, human-machine interfaces, and smart appliances to explore potential enhancements or applications for this washing machine innovation.

Questions about Washing Machine with Sensor Technology: Question 1: How does the sensor detect the coupling or decoupling of the washing rod and pulsator? Answer: The sensor likely utilizes proximity or motion detection technology to sense the physical connection between the washing rod and pulsator.

Question 2: What are the implications of this technology for the future of smart home appliances? Answer: This technology sets a precedent for more intuitive and automated features in household appliances, paving the way for enhanced user experiences and increased efficiency in daily tasks.

Original Abstract Submitted

A washing machine includes a tub; a rotating tub rotatably provided in the tub; a pulsator rotatably provided in a lower portion of the rotating tub; a washing rod configured to be coupled to the pulsator; a sensor configured to detect coupling or decoupling of the washing rod and the pulsator; a control panel configured to display a plurality of washing modes; and a controller configured to be electrically connected to the sensor and the control panel, wherein the controller is configured to identify whether the pulsator and the washing rod are coupled based on a detection signal of the sensor, and control the control panel to display at least one washing mode corresponding to a coupled state of the washing rod or a decoupled state of the washing rod among the plurality of washing modes.
