DATA TRANSMISSION MANAGEMENT - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18379343 titled 'DATA TRANSMISSION MANAGEMENT

Simplified Explanation

Methods, apparatuses, and non-transitory machine-readable media associated with data transmission are described. This patent application focuses on data transmission management between a second device and a cloud service, with a first device acting as an intermediary. The first device receives instructions from an edge device via a radio, which are associated with data transmission between the second device and the cloud service. The first device manages the data transmission based on these instructions.

  • The first device receives instructions from an edge device for data transmission between a second device and a cloud service.
  • The first device manages the data received from the memory resource of the second device for transmission to the cloud service.
  • The first device also manages the data received from the cloud service for transmission to the memory resource of the second device.
  • The management of data transmission includes enabling transmission of some, none, or all of the data between the cloud service and the memory resource of the second device based on the management of the data.

Potential applications of this technology:

  • Internet of Things (IoT) devices: This technology can be applied to manage data transmission between IoT devices and cloud services, improving efficiency and reducing latency.
  • Edge computing: The first device acting as an intermediary can be an edge computing device, enabling faster data transmission and reducing the load on the cloud service.
  • Remote monitoring and control: This technology can be used for remote monitoring and control systems, allowing seamless data transmission between the monitored devices and the cloud service.

Problems solved by this technology:

  • Efficient data transmission: By managing the data transmission between the second device and the cloud service, this technology ensures efficient and optimized data transfer.
  • Reduced latency: The use of an intermediary device allows for faster data transmission, reducing latency and improving real-time communication.
  • Resource management: The management of data transmission enables the efficient utilization of resources, such as bandwidth and storage, both at the edge device and the cloud service.

Benefits of this technology:

  • Improved efficiency: By managing data transmission, this technology improves the overall efficiency of the system, reducing unnecessary data transfer and optimizing resource utilization.
  • Reduced latency: The intermediary device and optimized data transmission enable faster communication, reducing latency and improving responsiveness.
  • Scalability: This technology can be applied to various devices and cloud services, allowing for scalable and flexible data transmission management.

Original Abstract Submitted

Methods, apparatuses, and non-transitory machine-readable media associated with data transmission are described. Data transmission management can include receiving, from an edge device via a radio at a first device, instructions associated with data transmission between a second device in communication with the first device and a cloud service in communication with the first device. Data transmission management can also include managing, at the first device and based on the instructions from the edge device, data received from a memory resource of the second device for transmission to the cloud service and data received from the cloud service for transmission to the memory resource of the second device. Data transmission management can further include enabling transmission of some, none, or all of the data between the cloud service and the memory resource of the second device and vice versa based on the management of the data.
