Apparatus, Method and Computer Program - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18373344 titled 'Apparatus, Method and Computer Program
Simplified Explanation
The patent application describes an apparatus that receives configuration parameters defining resources associated with multiple signals for transmitting a first message of a random access procedure. The apparatus then obtains signal measurements for the signals, determines the number of transmissions needed for the first message for two specific signals, chooses resources for transmission based on this determination and the signal measurements, and performs the transmission on the chosen resources.
- The apparatus receives configuration parameters for signal resources.
- Signal measurements are obtained for the signals.
- The number of transmissions needed for specific signals is determined.
- Resources are chosen based on the determined number of transmissions and signal measurements.
- The first message of the random access procedure is transmitted on the chosen resources.
Potential Applications
This technology could be applied in various wireless communication systems where random access procedures are used, such as in cellular networks, IoT devices, and satellite communication systems.
Problems Solved
This technology helps optimize the transmission of random access messages by selecting the most appropriate resources based on signal measurements and the number of transmissions needed for specific signals. Original Abstract Submitted
There is provided an apparatus including circuitry for, at a user equipment, receiving, from a network node, configuration parameters defining resources associated with a plurality of signals for transmission of a first message of a random access procedure, obtaining signal measurements for the plurality of signals, determining a number of transmissions of the first message for a first signal and a second signal from the plurality of signals based on the obtained signal measurements, choosing resources associated with one of the first signal and the second signal for transmission of the first message, based at least on the determined number of transmissions of the first message for the respective signals and the obtained signal measurements and performing transmission of the first message of the random access procedure on at least part of the chosen resources.
