WALK-IN APPARATUS FOR VEHICLE SEAT - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18372557 titled 'WALK-IN APPARATUS FOR VEHICLE SEAT
The walk-in apparatus for a vehicle seat described in the patent application includes a walk-in bracket, a compensator bracket, and a compensator spring to facilitate smooth movement of the vehicle seat during a walk-in operation.
- The walk-in bracket is rotatably coupled to a crossbar of a cushion frame and is designed to release a fixing member by contacting the fixing member of a seat rail.
- The compensator bracket is operably connected to the walk-in bracket through a hinge and is also connected to a walk-in cable.
- A compensator spring supports the walk-in bracket and the compensator bracket, allowing them to rotate and return the compensator bracket even when the walk-in cable is released due to a seatback rebound phenomenon.
Potential Applications: - Automotive industry for vehicle seats - Public transportation seating systems - Furniture design for adjustable seating
Problems Solved: - Ensures smooth movement of the vehicle seat during a walk-in operation - Maintains the unlocking state of the seat rail for continuous operation
Benefits: - Enhanced user experience for entering and exiting vehicles - Improved safety and convenience in adjusting seating positions
Commercial Applications: Title: Innovative Walk-in Apparatus for Vehicle Seats This technology can be utilized in various commercial applications such as automotive seating systems, public transportation seating, and furniture design for adjustable seating solutions. The market implications include improved user experience, enhanced safety features, and increased convenience in adjusting seating positions.
Questions about the Walk-in Apparatus for Vehicle Seats: 1. How does the compensator spring support the walk-in bracket and compensator bracket? The compensator spring is configured to support both brackets, allowing them to rotate and return the compensator bracket even when the walk-in cable is released. 2. What are the potential applications of this technology beyond vehicle seats? This technology can also be applied to public transportation seating systems and furniture design for adjustable seating solutions.
Original Abstract Submitted
A walk-in apparatus for a vehicle seat includes a walk-in bracket rotatably coupled to a crossbar of a cushion frame and operable to release a fixing member by contacting the fixing member of a seat rail; a compensator bracket operably connected to the walk-in bracket through a hinge, the compensator bracket also being connected to a walk-in cable; and a compensator spring configured to support the walk-in bracket and the compensator bracket, rotate at least one of the walk-in bracket and the compensator bracket, and operate in such a manner as to return the compensator bracket. Even when the walk-in cable is released due to a seatback rebound phenomenon during a walk-in operation, the walk-in bracket maintains a pressing state of the fixing member to maintain continuously an unlocking state of the seat rail, allowing the vehicle seat to move forward smoothly to enable a walk-in operation.
