BATTERY TERMINAL - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18371316 titled 'BATTERY TERMINAL

The abstract describes a battery terminal that includes a post terminal for connecting a cable to a battery post through compressing and clamping force, along with a detachable short-prevention member to prevent spark generation.

  • The battery terminal is designed to electrically connect a cable to a battery post using compressing and clamping force.
  • A short-prevention member is detachably provided on the post terminal to prevent spark generation during assembly.
  • The high-resistance element of the short-prevention member helps ensure safe operation and prevent potential hazards.
  • The design aims to improve safety and reliability in battery connections by reducing the risk of sparks and short circuits.

Potential Applications: - Automotive industry for battery terminals in vehicles - Industrial applications for battery connections in machinery - Consumer electronics for battery terminals in devices

Problems Solved: - Prevents spark generation during assembly - Reduces the risk of short circuits - Enhances safety and reliability in battery connections

Benefits: - Improved safety in battery connections - Reduced risk of electrical hazards - Enhanced reliability in electrical systems

Commercial Applications: Title: "Enhanced Battery Terminal for Improved Safety in Electrical Connections" This technology can be used in various industries such as automotive, industrial, and consumer electronics for safer and more reliable battery connections.

Questions about the technology: 1. How does the short-prevention member prevent spark generation during assembly? 2. What are the key advantages of using compressing and clamping force in battery terminals?

Original Abstract Submitted

A battery terminal includes a post terminal provided to electrically connect a cable to a post of a battery by being coupled to the post of the battery by a compressing and clamping force applied thereto in a state in which the cable is connected to the post terminal, and a short-prevention member detachably provided on the post terminal and provided as a high-resistance element to prevent spark generation when assembled to the post.
