APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR AUTHENTICATING USER IN AUGMENTED REALITY - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18356524 titled 'APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR AUTHENTICATING USER IN AUGMENTED REALITY

Simplified Explanation

An electronic device is described that uses a sensor to obtain current spatial information on a physical space where a user is located. The device generates virtual objects based on authentication objects that are unavailable in the current spatial information. These virtual objects are then outputted to various positions, including the physical position of an unavailable authentication object. The device determines successful authentication based on the user's input, which selects a generated virtual object and an available authentication object as a registered sequence.

  • The device obtains spatial information using a sensor.
  • It generates virtual objects based on unavailable authentication objects.
  • The virtual objects are outputted to different positions, including the physical position of an unavailable authentication object.
  • Successful authentication is determined based on the user's selection of a virtual object and an available authentication object.

Potential applications of this technology:

  • Enhanced security systems that use virtual objects for authentication.
  • Virtual reality experiences that incorporate virtual objects into physical spaces.
  • Interactive gaming experiences that utilize virtual objects in real-world environments.

Problems solved by this technology:

  • Provides a more secure authentication method by using virtual objects.
  • Enhances user experiences by integrating virtual objects into physical spaces.
  • Allows for more interactive and immersive gaming experiences.

Benefits of this technology:

  • Improved security and authentication processes.
  • Enhanced user engagement and immersion.
  • Increased flexibility in incorporating virtual objects into physical spaces.

Original Abstract Submitted

An electronic device is provided. The electronic device obtains current spatial information on a physical space where a user is positioned using a sensor, generates a greater number of virtual objects than the number of unavailable authentication objects based on at least one authentication object among a plurality of authentication objects being unavailable in the current spatial information, outputs the generated virtual objects to a plurality of positions including a physical position of an unavailable authentication object, and determines that authentication is successful based on a user input that selects a generated virtual object and an available authentication object as a registered sequence.
