SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR KEYWORD FALSE ALARM REDUCTION - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18352601 titled 'SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR KEYWORD FALSE ALARM REDUCTION

Simplified Explanation

The patent application describes a method that uses a keyword detection model to analyze audio data and identify specific keywords within the data.

  • The method extracts audio features from the audio data using the keyword detection model.
  • It processes the audio features through multiple layers of the model to predict the likelihood of speech and the presence of keyword-like speech.
  • The model then predicts the likelihood of specific keywords being present in the audio data.
  • Based on the identified keyword, the method generates instructions to perform an action.

Key Features and Innovation

  • Utilizes a keyword detection model to analyze audio data.

Questions about Keyword Detection in Audio Data

Question 1

How does the keyword detection model process audio features to predict the presence of specific keywords?

The keyword detection model processes audio features through multiple layers to predict the likelihood of speech, keyword-like speech, and specific keywords within the data.

Question 2

What are the potential applications of this technology beyond voice recognition systems?

This technology can also be applied in speech-to-text applications and keyword-based audio search engines, enhancing the efficiency and accuracy of these systems.

Original Abstract Submitted

A method includes extracting, using a keyword detection model, audio features from audio data. The method also includes processing the audio features by a first layer of the keyword detection model configured to predict a first likelihood that the audio data includes speech. The method also includes processing the audio features by a second layer of the keyword detection model configured to predict a second likelihood that the audio data includes keyword-like speech. The method also includes processing the audio features by a third layer of the keyword detection model configured to predict a third likelihood, for each of a plurality of possible keywords, that the audio data includes the keyword. The method also includes identifying a keyword included in the audio data. The method also includes generating instructions to perform an action based at least in part on the identified keyword.
