STOPPER AND CAMERA MODULE INCLUDING STOPPER - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18347686 titled 'STOPPER AND CAMERA MODULE INCLUDING STOPPER

The camera module described in the patent application includes a carrier in a housing, a guide member in the carrier to compensate for shaking in a direction perpendicular to the optical axis, a stopper covering the upper portion of the carrier to accommodate the guide member, and a damper member in the stopper opposing the guide member in two different directions.

  • The camera module has a guide member that compensates for shaking in a direction perpendicular to the optical axis.
  • A stopper covers the upper portion of the carrier to accommodate the guide member.
  • A damper member in the stopper opposes the guide member in two different directions.
  • The damper member directly opposes the guide member to stabilize the camera module.
  • The innovation aims to improve image quality by reducing shaking and vibrations in the camera module.

Potential Applications: - This technology can be used in smartphones, digital cameras, and other devices with camera modules. - It can be applied in security cameras, surveillance systems, and drones for stable image capture. - Medical devices such as endoscopes and microscopes can benefit from this technology for precise imaging.

Problems Solved: - Minimizes shaking and vibrations in the camera module. - Improves image quality and stability during image capture. - Enhances the overall performance of devices with camera modules.

Benefits: - Enhanced image quality and stability. - Improved performance of devices with camera modules. - Reduction of shaking and vibrations for clear and sharp images.

Commercial Applications: The technology can be utilized in smartphones, digital cameras, security systems, medical devices, and drones to enhance image quality and stability during image capture.

Questions about the technology: 1. How does the damper member in the stopper contribute to stabilizing the camera module? 2. What are the potential commercial applications of this technology in the consumer electronics industry?

Original Abstract Submitted

A camera module includes a carrier provided in a housing; a guide member disposed in the carrier, and configured to compensate for shaking in a perpendicular direction to an optical axis direction; a stopper configured to cover an upper portion of the carrier to accommodate the guide member; and a damper member, disposed in the stopper, comprising either one or both of an eleventh damper member opposing the guide member in a first direction perpendicular to the optical axis direction, and a twenty first damper member opposing the guide member in a second direction perpendicular to the optical axis direction and the first direction. The damper member directly opposes the guide member.
