PIXEL ARRANGEMENT STRUCTURE AND DISPLAY PANEL - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18309813 titled 'PIXEL ARRANGEMENT STRUCTURE AND DISPLAY PANEL

The pixel arrangement structure and display panel described in the patent application involve a unique configuration of sub-pixels within pixel groups.

  • The pixel group consists of multiple sub-pixels arranged in an array, with a specific ratio of high-grayscale subpixels to low-grayscale subpixels.
  • The ratio of high-grayscale subpixels to low-grayscale subpixels is either 1:2 or 1:3 within the pixel group.
  • The low-grayscale subpixels include first low-grayscale subpixels, and the number of high-grayscale subpixels is equal to the number of first low-grayscale subpixels in adjacent rows of subpixels.
  • The number of rows, denoted as N, is an integral multiple of 2, an integral multiple of 3, or 1.

Potential Applications: - This pixel arrangement structure could be used in high-resolution displays for electronic devices such as smartphones, tablets, and televisions. - It may also find applications in virtual reality headsets, monitors, and other display technologies requiring precise grayscale representation.

Problems Solved: - Provides a more efficient and effective way to arrange sub-pixels within pixel groups to achieve desired grayscale levels. - Enhances the overall image quality and clarity of displays by optimizing the distribution of high and low grayscale subpixels.

Benefits: - Improved visual performance and color accuracy in display panels. - Enhanced viewing experience for users with sharper images and better contrast ratios. - Potential energy savings due to optimized pixel arrangement leading to more efficient display operation.

Commercial Applications: Title: Innovative Pixel Arrangement Structure for High-Resolution Displays This technology could revolutionize the display industry by offering enhanced image quality and color accuracy in various electronic devices. It has the potential to be widely adopted in consumer electronics, professional monitors, and other display applications where high-quality visuals are essential.

Questions about Pixel Arrangement Structure: 1. How does the unique ratio of high-grayscale to low-grayscale subpixels impact the overall image quality of the display? 2. What are the potential cost implications of implementing this pixel arrangement structure in mass-produced electronic devices?

Original Abstract Submitted

A pixel arrangement structure and a display panel are provided by the present disclosure. The pixel arrangement structure includes at least one pixel group, and the pixel group includes a plurality of sub-pixels arranged in an array. In the pixel group, a ratio of a number of high-grayscale subpixels to a number of low-grayscale subpixels is 1:2 or 1:3. The low-grayscale subpixels include a plurality of first low-grayscale subpixels, and among adjacent N rows of the subpixels, the number of the high-grayscale subpixels equals to a number of the first low-grayscale subpixels, and N is an integral multiple of 2, an integral multiple of 3, or 1.
