SERVER - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18301269 titled 'SERVER

The patent application describes a server with a locking assembly that secures a GPU assembly in a computer case.

  • The server includes a front window and a GPU assembly with a module bracket.
  • A latching member on the front window can switch between locking and unlocking states.
  • The module bracket has a locking member that corresponds to the latching member.
  • In the locking state, the latching member restricts the GPU assembly in the computer case.
  • In the unlocking state, the latching member disengages from the locking member.

Potential Applications: - Data centers - Cloud computing servers - High-performance computing systems

Problems Solved: - Secure mounting of GPU assemblies in server cases - Preventing accidental dislodging of components during operation

Benefits: - Enhanced security for critical hardware components - Improved stability and reliability of server systems

Commercial Applications: Title: "Secure GPU Mounting System for Servers" This technology could be utilized in various industries such as data centers, cloud computing providers, and research institutions to ensure the safe and stable operation of server systems.

Questions about the technology: 1. How does the locking assembly enhance the security of the GPU assembly in the server? 2. What are the potential cost savings associated with using this locking mechanism in server systems?

Frequently Updated Research: Researchers are constantly exploring new ways to improve the efficiency and security of server systems, including advancements in hardware mounting technologies like the one described in this patent application.

Original Abstract Submitted

A server includes a computer case including a front window, a GPU assembly mounted in the computer case and including a module bracket, and a locking assembly comprising a latching member. An end of the GPU assembly is located at the front window. The latching member is rotatably mounted at the front window and capable of switching between an unlocking state and a locking state, the module bracket is provided with a locking member corresponding to the latching member. In the locking state the latching member is at least partially inserted into the locking member to limit the GPU assembly in the computer case, and in the unlocking state, the latching member is disengaged from the locking member.
