SPATIALLY-INDEXED CHANNEL MANAGEMENT OPERATIONS - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18295658 titled 'SPATIALLY-INDEXED CHANNEL MANAGEMENT OPERATIONS
The patent application discusses techniques for enhancing wireless configuration by determining enclosing polygons of access points (APs) in a deployment, querying a regulatory database based on these polygons, receiving spatial regions with wireless parameters, and configuring APs accordingly.
- The deployment of access points is enclosed within one or more polygons.
- A query is generated for a regulatory database based on these polygons.
- Spatially-indexed regulatory database provides a set of spatial regions with corresponding wireless parameters.
- Wireless parameters are determined for individual access points based on the spatial regions.
- Access points are configured with the appropriate wireless parameters.
Potential Applications: - Wireless network optimization - IoT device configuration - Smart city infrastructure development

Original Abstract Submitted
Techniques for improved wireless configuration are provided. One or more enclosing polygons of a deployment of access points (APs) are determined, and a first query for a regulatory database is generated based on the one or more enclosing polygons, where the regulatory database is spatially-indexed. In response to the first query, a set of spatial regions is received, where each spatial region in the set of spatial regions is associated with a corresponding set of wireless parameters. A first set of wireless parameters is determined, for at least a first AP in the deployment of APs, based on the set of spatial regions. The first AP is configured based on the first set of wireless parameters.
