NETWORK TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18289064 titled 'NETWORK TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT

The abstract describes a method for managing network traffic in a network using remote user equipment (UE) to relay messages between network nodes and the remote UE.

  • The method involves receiving identity information from a network node via a relay UE to identify the remote UE to the network node.
  • The relay UE can relay network traffic between the network node and the remote UE when the network node is serving the remote UE.

Potential Applications: - This technology can be applied in telecommunications networks to efficiently manage network traffic. - It can be used in mobile networks to improve the performance and reliability of data transmission.

Problems Solved: - Helps in optimizing network traffic flow and improving overall network performance. - Enables seamless communication between network nodes and remote UEs.

Benefits: - Enhanced network efficiency and performance. - Improved user experience with faster and more reliable data transmission.

Commercial Applications: - Telecom companies can utilize this technology to enhance their network infrastructure and provide better services to customers. - Network equipment manufacturers can integrate this method into their products to improve network management capabilities.

Prior Art: - Researchers and developers can explore existing patents related to network traffic management and relay technologies to understand the prior art in this field.

Frequently Updated Research: - Stay updated on the latest advancements in network traffic management and relay technologies to incorporate cutting-edge solutions into this method.

Questions about Network Traffic Management: 1. How does this method improve network efficiency compared to traditional traffic management techniques? 2. What are the potential security implications of using relay UEs in network traffic management?

Original Abstract Submitted

A method for managing network traffic in a network is provided. The method is performed by a remote user equipment (UE). The method includes receiving a first message from a first network node via a relay UE. The first message includes identity information for use in identifying the remote UE to the first network node when the first network node is serving the remote UE. The relay UE is capable of relaying network traffic between the first network node and the remote UE when the first network node is serving the remote UE.
